How to use new spline tool?

I have just started using 4.3 and I wanted to make a blueprint which spawns meshes along one of the new spline components, like Epic did in the example/trailer video for 4.3, but I added a spline component and it only has 4 options under the spline heading in it’s properties? I am wondering how we are supposed to use the splines? I also tried creating a splinemesh component, but all that seems to do is to deform a mesh from a spline? (but the spline settings for the splinemesh component have spline settings?)
So I am wondering if anyone knows how to use the new splines?
