Making changeable clothes with adobe fuse and mixamo

I’m trying to make my imported character from Adobe Fuse/Mixamo to be able to “swap” clothes (as seen in numerous RPG games). The shorts are rigged onto same character(skeletal mesh) as is my character.

So far only way how I was able to make it possible was using another skeletal mesh in my blueprint controller, but this method creates numerous size problems and even animations are few frames offset from each other (although I’m using same animation and imported shorts with setting tp0)

Some tutorials I have watched mentioned something along the lines of disabling custom part of mesh, that was being replaced, but that was for custom made mesh. Fuse/Mixamo character actually make entire body into a single mesh (except eyes/eyelashes)

Any pointers or tutorials on this topic would help me greatly.
