Hi lovely epic folks. I got a crash with no workaround that I can think of other than start my landscape over.
Branch: Binary build from launcher
Build version: 4.2.1
Last night I edited my landscape extensively, and added many objects. This morning, I made two non-suspect level blueprint changes, then built the game, which was successful. Now, when I try to sculpt the landscape, it crashes every time. I’ve reverted all my changes to my submit last night, and the crash still occurs.
Open my level
Enter landscape edit mode
Ctrl+click on landscape for a 100% reproducable crash.
I’m accepting that my landscape was corrupted in it’s journey from 4.2 to 4.3. So I exported the heightmap and used it to create a new landscape. Once I plugged in the same location and scale values from my 4.2 project, I had a matching landscape shape. However, all the foliage and painting is gone. Better than nothing.
Hi! I’ve got this kind of issue too. I create a new blank project, create a default landscape. But when i try to add a “Water errosion”, the editor crashes. The last string in system console:
[2015.03.04-16.06.48:183][298]Cmd: UpdateLandscapeEditorData
/home/myusername/Downloads/UnrealEngine-release/Engine/Binaries/Linux/UE4Editor: symbol lookup error: /home/myusername/Downloads/UnrealEngine-release/Engine/Binaries/Linux/libUE4Editor-LandscapeEditor.so: undefined symbol: kiss_fftnd_alloc
System: Kubuntu 14.04.1 x86_64, Phenom II X6 1055T, 4 GiB RAM, GeForce GTX 550 Ti, Nvidia driver version 331.113.
The error you are experiencing may be due to your ram. We recommend a minimum of 8gb of RAM for use with the editor. I attempted to recreate the crash on my end with no crash. Do you have any other steps I could take to try and reproduce this on my end?
Well, I could try to find other linux user with reccomended amount of RAM… But in addition to 4 GiB of physical RAM I have 7.5 GiB of swap. It is used 1 GiB of RAM and 280 MiB of swap during the editing and crash, so I stongly doubt that it’s a question of RAM amount.
Do you have a project that you would be willing to share showing this error? I have attempted to reproduce this error but every test I have tried the landscape tools seem to be working as intended with no crashes. Any additional information that can be provided would help in reproducing this error. Thank you!
