Animation Transition rule does not automatically appear

The transition rule, between two animations, does not appear when I join up two states, only after I have right clicked.

Post a screenshot of your animation Blueprint and blendspaces that you are using. It will allow others to be of better help

Hi,

I tried to recreate this issue in 4.17 and I am not getting the same results. If you can give me any more details that I may be missing or a test/sample project, I can take another look at the problem and get back to you.

-Thank you

Hello I’m having the same problem with 4.17. The icon for the Transition rules in state machines randomly disappears and reappears. The transitions are also not selectable. Here’s a short gif of the problem.

Hi,

Thank you for the gif of the results. I have taken a another look at the issue and am still unable to reproduce it on my end. If you have steps you are taking to reproduce this I can take a look at them.

-Thank you

I just ran into this issue in 4.18 after duplicating a state machine. I’m not sure if the duplication was really the cause, however, since doing the same in another blueprint did not reproduce the bug.

The bug affects both the original, as well as the duplicated state machine, but not new state machines created in the same anim graph.

Hi,

When you say “duplicate” are you copying and pasting anything? This can cause problems with anim Blueprints. I see the issue occurring in the sample project, but am unable to reproduce it in any other anim Blueprint. I also set up a new anim Blueprint in the same project using the Tutorial TPP skeleton and tested it from there, and the transition rules still appears normally. I also am unable to get it to repro in a 3rd person project. It also appears that your skeleton is not actually there in the repro project and this may be contributing as well.

-Thank you

Hi,

I am closing this due to tracking purposes. If you have any questions regarding this issue, feel free to reopen this.

-Thank you

This is an issue for me in 4.26. I haven’t done any duplication of states, and I’ve not done anything differently from the usual workflow.

Same here in 4.26.2

I just created a new state machine and it worked… I think what I did different was instead of right clicking and creating a new state not connected to anything I drag the arrow off of the initial state and then select new state then the transition appeared.

For anyone that stumbles across this issue as I have been every now and then.

Something I’ve found to get the transitions back is to, in the menu bar, click View > Zoom to Graph Extents.

This is still happening in the 5.3 editor. I’ve tried restarting unreal and cannot get it to appear again. I am unable to make any transitions between animations in this animation blueprint. Did anyone ever find a workaround?

I didn’t see the zoom workaround. That worked for me.
