[UI Improvement] 4.3 preview paint mesh to be added, area too small

UPDATE: The below issue is solved by dropping the new mesh precisely on top of the text that states that I should drop it on ‘this area’. The obvious problem here is that a user might think it is the whole area. If it is possible, could this please be fixed?

I have used paint to draw terrain items etc… then erased all of those from the terrain. Followed by clearing out all meshes in the paint area using the ‘X’ button. Now the list is empty. When I now try to import a new mesh to the paint area (to be used to paint the terrain with new type of trees etc… (any mesh really)) it refuses to import. No error, or anything. Dropping the mesh in the paint area from the content browser produces a big nothing. Now adding meshes before clearing works. And having a single mesh remain (for instance the mesh you want added) also works. But erasing them all, and then trying to add a new mesh seems to cause the engine to ignore any new meshes. This is for the 4.3 preview version, built from source.

Hi ,

I am a little confused. When you say the paint area and painting meshes. Are you referring to the foliage tool?

Hmm  I mean when the foilage tree is empty, and you need to add new meshes to be able to draw something. I need to drop the new mesh exactly on the text itself. I haven’t tried the official 4.3 release yet, so it might be fixed already. But I found myself dropping a new mesh in the empty foilage list area, and the mesh wasn’t added. So I posted the message here thinking it could not add meshes at all to the foilage list (after having been cleared of meshes) and right after the post I dropped the mesh on the text itself. Then it added the mesh (and I felt stupid for posting the message as well  ) But thinking about it, it would propably be better if users could drop on the empty area entirely. To avoid mistakes like that

Hi ,

Thank you for your feedback, we will take this into consideration! Have a great day!
