Can you unmerge a static mesh?

So I used over 40 static meshes to create a larger piece, I then converted them into a single Static mesh. I now want to remove 10 of those meshes from the whole thing but can’t undo the mesh creation. Is there a way to separate all the meshes?

The only current way (if you’ve converted it into a single static mesh) is to export the static mesh asset and break it up in a modeling program.

As it stands there are several ways you can combine static meshes into a sort of “prefab” (you can convert to a mega static mesh, you can combine them into a blueprint as SM components, or you can just group them in the level), but unfortunately, as of 4.19, there is still no real way to create a placeable prefab out of several meshes, that you can then “unmerge” back into individual meshes in the level…

This would be an awesome addition to UE4.

In UE5, modelling tools, you can, sometimes ‘unmerge’ things with
