Project crashing on launch

Hi, this problem started in 4.16 but I have also replicated it in 4.17

Earlier today I shut down my project and immediately restarted it as I had forgotten to change something. From then on the project has mostly refused to open - on 2 occasions it has opened the default map with no shaders loaded and as soon as I do anything the scene crashes. I’m not sure if it’s noteworthy but it seems to consistently crash on 94%

From the log I assume that the issue pertains to M_EyeBlend_Bust. I have tried deleting/modifying this file and restarting to no avail. I have also tried deleting the intermediate and saved folders but this does not work either. Here is the log:
