Unreal 4 Keeps Crashing Constantly

Hi there. As mentioned, my UE4 keeps crashing whenever I use it. I could be importing an asset, editing the level, opening the material editor, or any other function and the editor just crashes. It constantly crashes no matter what I do. I have tried using UE 4.16 as well, and the situation is exactly the same. This didn’t use to happen before. I’ve tried going older with 4.12, but I can’t even right click on the content editor in that version.

I want to point out that this is on a totally new project. I have just started importing my fbx files into it. The level is pretty much empty.

I’m running Windows 10 64-bit, Intel(R) Core i7-6700HQ CPU @ 2.60GHz, 8 GB RAM.
I have updated my video drivers, and made sure that everything is installed properly. I even tried reinstalling these versions and the problem remained.

Here’s a copy of the log file that came from the most recent crash. I’d really appreciate the help. UE4 is an essential part of my workflow and it just doesn’t work right now.

Seems related. And searching using those keywords could be helpful. Also what about UE 4.17? Have you tried using that?

Thank you for the link. I looked that up earlier, but it did not really seem to really address my issue. After further tweaking and research, I enabled DirectX 12 on Unreal by adding the -DX12 line to a shortcut of the Binary launcher of UE4, similar to what was indicated here:

I figured it could have possibly been an issue with either DirectX or Visual Studio since those seemed to be common issues when I searched crashes in UE4. It now seems to be working thus far, but I will keep this post updated as well.

Alright, so the game engine just crashed again. Although this time, there was a considerable time I was able to work before it crashed. I’ll take another look at the fix, and I will also give 4.17 a try if that’s more stable.

What bothers me is that everything used to work without a problem before. This only started happening recently, probably due to a Windows update or something similar.
