4.17 adjusting focus makes oculus goes blank

when testing my game in the editor or standalone if i adjust the oculus focus button on the headset it immediately causes the oculus to go black screen. it looks like its working fine on the computer and is still tracking.

this only happens in 4.17, using the headset with the same projects work in 4.16 fine.

i tried this with a different headset on a different computer and got the same result.

I was unable to reproduce this issue on our end. I have a few questions that will help narrow down what issue it is that you are experiencing.

Quick questions:

  1. I notice you tried this on a separate computer, however can you reproduce this issue in a clean project?
  2. If so, could you provide a detailed list of steps to reproduce this issue on our end?
  3. Could you provide screen shots of any settings/blueprints that may be involved with this issue?

Steps to reproduce.

  1. Launch engine
  2. Choose new project -First person Blueprint, Create project
    3.Play level in VR
  3. Change focus

Oculus firmware version:
708/34a904e8da

OculusVR plugin version 1.17

Tried to reproduce it on 4.16 but without succes. It coult be problem of merged GearVR and Rift plugin into one OculusVR. I will try to find it in code.

  1. open launcher
  2. start Unreal Engine 4.17.1 from yellow launch button
  3. make a new VR project
  4. open hmd level
  5. play in VR
  6. move the focus lever and then it goes blank

Unreal Engine 4.16.3 works fine

I have run more tests on our end and I have not yet been able to reproduce this issue. When you say “OculusVR plugin version 1.17”, are you referring to the Oculus App Version?
