Unreal Engine 4.3 fails to start on Mac OS X 10.10

After Updating to Unreal Engine 4.3 today Editor hangs on startup while displaying splash screen. It also shows a popup telling me to update to latest version of OS X for best performance, which I can’t dismiss either. Now, I know that with beta software and all that one has to expect that certain software might not work, especially if it’s cutting-edge technology, but maybe this is an easily resolvable problem, maybe via an entry to ini-file which dismisses popup or a quick fix to source which i could apply by myself?

(Note: I’m using UE4.3 on a Retina Macbook Pro 15’ Late 2013 w/ nVidia GT 750M graphics, OS is OS X 10.10 Developer Preview 3)

Hey

We aren’t supporting 10.10 yet and have not been able to test for it yet. You can take a look at this post and see if what you are experiencing is similar:

Please feel free to add to that post if you have additional information. Thanks!

Yes, that seems to be it, sorry for not discovering it by myself. Will keep looking there and updating when and if something changes. Thanks!

Yep it’s same issue as one I posted. Trying to isolate what it is on my end, so I can at least give Epic guys a heads up before release of OS. only option at moment is to run 10.9, or see if next update fixes issue. There’s a good chance this issue is not limited to UE4 only.

Looks like 10.10 preview 4 released today solves problem
