Unreal Engine 4.17.1 won't launch on Mac

I’ve managed to download Epic Games Launcher, with no problems at all but i’m unable to launch Unreal Engine 4.17.1 on my Mac. Every time i click on it it minimises and fails to do anything.
I’ve checked my mac and all operating systems are up to date and should be compatible so i don’t understand why it’s not working, can anyone help me out?
