Nintendo Switch Pro Controller support in the editor?

Hello,

I was wonderder if it is possible to use your Switch Pro Controller for gamepad input testing in the Unreal Editor? I can connect the controller to my pc using bluetooth, but the editor doesn’t seem to recieve inputs. Do I need to set it up somewhere or is it just not supported?

(Ps. I’m not talking about developing for the Switch, just using the controller on my desktop.)

Did you ever get this working? If not, perhaps the Switch controller doesn’t use XInput? In that case, you would need to use an emulator. I use one to make UE4 support my old Logitech Rumblepad 2 controller, the same as this post.

Hey, thanks! I will try that.

You’re welcome! Once you download the 64 bit version of the emulator from http://www.x360ce.com/ you will want to navigate to C:\Program Files\Epic Games\UE_4.17 (or your current version)\Engine\Binaries\Win64 and paste the x360ce_x64.exe file there. Then double-click it and follow the prompts (it will ask to create a file, choose yes). Let me know if it works for you!

UE4 does not support standard USB/BT joystick support if you made that working, only Xinput which is Xbox controller standard.

Hey, sorry for not letting you know. Although late, I want to say that it works. Thanks!

No problem! I’m glad it worked. Don’t forget to accept the answer (providing the site still works). Have a great day!
