Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Output Log doesn't show compiler errors

I can't see any compiler errors in the Output Log. Only error message I can see is:

ERROR: UBT ERROR: Failed to produce item

But I found that compiler error messages are visible in the Terminal window after running it by command ./UE4Editor. How can I make them visible in the Output Log window?

My environment: Ubuntu 16.04, UE 4.17.1, clang 3.8.0.

Product Version: UE 4.17

Okay, I figured it out. Just open UE4Editor in terminal with the following command. It logs everything.

 /Users/Shared/EpicGamesAlt/UE_4.20/Engine/Binaries/Mac/UE4Editor.app/Contents/MacOS/UE4Editor -EpicPortal

It's better to open UE4 on Terminal. You'll be able to see log messages in it.
