Rendering resource

It keeps saying I am out of video memory and it is trying to allocate a rendering resource. What does that mean and how do I fix it?

Hi Wake and Blake -

Usually this means that you do not have enough memory on your CPU or GPU or combined to render the information that engine is trying to display. A lot can influence the total memory usage including what you have running in addition to the editor and exactly how much memory you have installed in your CPU and on your GPU(s) (Video Card(s)).

Can you upload a copy of your DXDIAG.txt and let me have a look? In the meantime I would make sure you are running nothing else on your CPU but Windows and the Editor.

Thank You

Hey Wake and Blake -

We have not heard from you in several days and I am going to mark this as answered for tracking purposes, but if the problem has continued or reoccured please let us know and upload your DXDIAG and we will continue trying to help you through your issue.

Thank You

I had this problem where it threw this message the moment I tried to load Unreal Engine 4 - and the solution was my graphics drivers were woefully out of date and the NVIDIA GeForce Experience wasn’t showing the latest ones. A quick trip to the website, an install and I was up and running!
