Missing audio settings when double clicking any sound file, even when restarting the editor

Hello.

I double clicked a .wav file (that plays ok when clicking the preview play button in the thumbnail, and plays fine in any media player on my PC), and a blank page comes up. I can’t see any options to change the volume, pitch, etc. Same if I restart the editor.

Using UE 4.17.1

Edit: Not 5 minutes later after writing this report, I went to “Window” (from File, Edit, Asset, Window), choose “Details” and now the settings are back again. Even if I close the editor. Weird bug, man… Sorry I don’t have any steps to reproduce it, but I thought I should report it anyway. Maybe someone else encounters this bug and googles it (I didn’t find anything when googling it), or maybe one of the programmers knows what’s up with this bug.

Hi,

I took a look at this and couldn’t get it to repro. If you link the sound or can give me any more information about what you think might be causing the issue and I can check it again.

-Thank you

Hi,

Since I can not repro this on my end and you think this maybe due to a setting as you mentioned above, I will be closing this issue out. If you have any other problems regarding to what is mentioned above please feel free to reopen this thread.

-Thank you

I must have clicked the close button on the Details tab accidentally while reaching for the Save button. Or maybe there’s a keyboard shortcut or something that closes it that I hit accidentally? Either way, now I right-clicked the tab and chose “Hide Tab”, hoping it won’t happen again.

It was weird not seeing any settings for audio files.
