Can I download 4.17.1 now that 4.17.2 has been released?

I need to download 4.17.1 as that is the version that my University uses and also the version in witch the levels provided by the University have been created on. They have told us that their computers will not be update to 17.2 and so if i download this version they will not be able to grade my work.

Is there a way to download 4.17.1? I have looked at the versions that the epic games launcher allows me to download but 17.1 is not an option.

Thanks

You would have to go to Github and download the source. Check out the commit that says 4.17.1 and build the engine from source. I know of no other way, perhaps someone else knows a trick?

To be honest I think its stupid to sill work on 4.17.1 because 4.17.2 is just the same with some bug fixes.

I think you should be able to open 4.17.1 files with 4.17.2 and vice versa.

Sure, 4.17.2 may better to work in, but can 4.17.1 open levels from 4.17.2? No, it cannot. As the student stated above, the university had installed 4.17.1. It’s the same thing at our university - the IT dept. has to be the one to install engine versions due to some very good IT reasons, and it installed 4.17.1 on about 32 PCs. IT cannot run around and install new engines with every update, and there are students who currently need to install or re-install 4.17.1 on their personal machines and it’s not readily available. It would really help things in for universities where UE4 is used if Epic could make more recent versions point releases available directly from the UE4 launcher in the “+ Add Versions” drop-down…
