Have you tried rebooting your PC, and reinstalling the Epic Games launcher? Seems the problem comes from the executable

I reinstalled Epic games launcher and I am still getting the error.

My friend run the launcher without any error and he have the same PC specs

Just saw on the DXDiag you were french, me too. But I’ll continue in english for other pepoles. I think your problem is coming from your PC specs. I don’t know why, but the launcher has got some problems with old CPUs (2xxx are pretty old now) and your GTX 480 seems outdated for the launcher. I really have no idea why is this happening. Have you tried it on other computers?

OK, I’m sorry but i REALLY have no idea of what’s the problem. Sorry , but I can’t help you

A colleague of mine had this problem and found that if he installed a game that uses the Unreal engine e.g. via steam the launcher would install properly afterwards… i think its a problem with permissions on updating the direct x runtimes. This was on a freshly reinstalled windows 10 by the way.

So there is no solution ?

well, if you can find a demo or a game using the Unreal engine, try installing it. It seems to be a permissions problem with the installer in installing or maybe upgrading some of the directx prerequisites… it’s installed ok by other games but not the launcher … its getting elevated privilege errors on the machine before the steam game (rocket league) was installed. Install the game, run the launcher with the same user and its fine… its a problem with the launcher.
