iOS Launching empty project to device

I am truly as green as they come. Just barely venturing into publishing unreal projects on iOS love the engine, hoping to get it to work so I can start creating. I am trying to run a map directly from windows machine to iPad Pro. I have followed the instructions on this page

I started the entire process from scratch. I started a new project, specified that it was a mobile project, did not load any of the prepackaged content, then I paced a primitive, generated in unreal, in an empty map and put a light on it. I then attempted to launch it to my iOS device. No luck Unreal freezes.

I am updating from 4.17.1 to 4.17.2 to see if that will solve the problem but I have yet to launch a map successfully to my attached iOS device. I have now updated and tried again… updating to 4.17.2 did not help.
I tell it to launch on my device and unreal freezes. My computer is running intel xeon processor at 3.00GHz with 32 GB of ram. What am I missing? Help please.

UPDATE: 30 mins unreal trying to package this basic level. I left the program alone for a while, It appears to be compiling shaders now, which is odd because I don’t have any shaders applied. I looked into this and found this page

Can anybody verify the answer given in on this page? also is it normal for such a basic project to take so long to deploy from unreal? and for the program to be so unresponsive while its packaging?
