Water disapears

When I add the translucent water from the free Waterplanes collection to a mesh, it becomes completely see through and disappears. Though the lake shader works fine. Can anyone please tell me how to fix this? thanks.

Are you adding it to a small-ish closed mesh? It’s possible the depth fade is too large for the size of the mesh you have and it’s becoming fully tranlucent to immitate depth or maybe the displacement is too strong for it and the faces end up going though each other and you end up with flipped normals?

Also, what do your mesh UV map looks like? If it’s a completelly different scale from the plane its suppose to go on, it might affect the look of the material.

Have you tryed putting the material on a large cube or sphere from the engine to test? (make it pretty big). If it’s still invisible than those things are probably not what’s wrong with it…

Hi. Thanks for the reply. I have a very large mesh the size of a stretch of river. Which I migrated to the waterplanes level. There I added the translucent material to it and it was fine except it clipped when the camera got too close. Where as the water already in the waterplanes level is fine. I tried migrating the mesh the water is on in the waterplanes demo level to my project, but it doesn;'t seem to be a mesh and it was completely clear. Perhaps it’s a clipping problem. I currently use Waterplanes lake water as my river with no probs at all.
