Particle system wont appear on bone unless already visible in scene

So this is a really weird problem but here’s the back ground. I am working on a VFX portfolio piece so I have a particle system attached to the bone of an animated sphere. When its not activated (F key) it has an idle animation that just places the particle system below the level so that it is out of the way. If the particle system is visible before I play the main animation it works just fine if it starts below the level (out of sight) it will not play with the animation. If I alternately start my player below the level I can see it playing just fine above me?
I know this is a wonky work around, but if anyone knows if this is a bug or if there is anything I could do to fix it that’d be awesome!
