How do I get random textureing like in some of the start up content materials??

I see that some of the materials in the start up content like the “ground” materials all look like when they are placed they randomly have textures blended all over them…no repeating…I would like to learn how to do that. Can someone walk me through it??

That’s the texture itself. I’m assuming you mean something along the lines of dynamic generation of material when you’re landscaping. There’s a bunch of videos on Youtube about how this can be done for example here’s a quick tutorial about a guy that sets up a 3 level version to automatically detect it. Also the grass textures are 2048x2048 which means there won’t be very much repeating of textures that will be notice. I’m also pretty sure the landscape tool itself also rotates some of the textures but don’t myself for it.

I think you need to clarify a bit more on what exactly you need help with. but it sounds like you want to figure out how to be able to create seamless textures that don’t have parts that are repeating.

Yes. Seamless textures are probably right. So to make textures that don’t repeat i have to do it on an outside source? There’s no way to do that in unreal?
