Unable to add character for animation on maya 2016 ART1.0 on a Mac

I am not able to add a character for animation as it keeps saying i have no project selected. I went into the options and made sure its pointed in the right place and it is. I am using A.R.T verion 1 Maya 2016 Extension 1 service pack 6

Is there a way to fix this?

And this is the error code i keep getting # Error: RuntimeError: file /Users//library/Preferences/Autodesk/maya/2016/prefs/scripts/MayaTools/General/Scripts/art_v1/ART_addCharacter_UI.py line 108: Object ‘addCharacter_UI|columnLayout5|formLayout90|textScrollList3’ not found.

Hi,

It looks like you have just linked your error message, but most of your error message has to do with your filepath. Can you provide the callstack? This way I can check and see if there is an existing documented bug that is related? Also can you give me the exact steps that you are taking/process to get this to occur? Any more information you can provide will be helpful.

-Thank you

Hello

Sorry i am not sure what a callstack is? I even googled it and not sure how to do that for you.

As for my process i just clicked on the ART1.0 toolbar
Clicked on add character for animation and this error pops up each time.
I did this process on a PC and it worked no problem but on my mac is seems to now work, is this because of the files system being different on a mac?

Thank you for your help

Hi,

So I have looked into the issue some more and the tool is only for Windows OS and is not supported for being used on a Mac. It is also only supported in engine versions 4.10 to 4.16. This may be what is causing the issue for you. Macs also have a different file system than Windows, so this may be why it can not find the character.
