Unreal Editor Freezes When Loading

It won’t load past 35%. It got to 45% once, but it still won’t load. Tried the reinstalling trick and it still doesn’t work. Please help…

Hello ,

I have a few questions for you that will help narrow down what issue it is that you are experiencing.

Quick questions:

  1. Can you reproduce this issue in a clean project?
  2. If so, could you open any other engine versions?
  3. What OS are you currently using?
  4. Could you provide your dxdiag or equivalent?
  1. Yes. I just open up the launcher, start up the Unreal Editor, and the problem happens. Can’t even open a new project because the editor hasn’t even finished loading up.
  2. No.
  3. Mac OS High Sierra 10.13
  4. What even is that?

This never happened before. The problem just started to happen all of a sudden (even in previous OS).

Try this…

As suggested by jimd667, could you try verifying your engine?

Example:

Tried verifying. Still did not work.

Please. I would like to use this engine more. I don’t want to restore my computer.

Additional questions:

  1. Are you running any sort of anti virus that may be preventing the engine from opening?
  2. Can you open a project directly (by double clicking the Uproject file(no through the launcher))?

Thanks for the help. Suddenly, it started working. I don’t know why or how. Maybe it’s because I verified the application a lot of times. Definitely something the team should look into.

hi i know this is a long time ago but have you figured out howd you fix the problem? im experiencing it right now and there arent any proper answers in answerhub

Hello everyone I had a similar issue and my problem was I activated some project settings inside the engine and it added the features to the DefaultEngine.INI in my config folder project. All I had to do was to replace the file with the original one that is created with any default project and it opened!
