Character Mesh Component Won't Rotate in Blueprint Editor when Anim BP is changed to a particular anim BP

Long story short, changing the anim BP causes the mesh turn the wrong way, and changing it back doesn’t do anything.

This started with the Mesh not rotating no matter what I did. Its one in several characters of the same parent class so I just deleted the character and reused the anim BP but it immediately repeated the issue. All of their anim BPs are children of the same BP as well with the only changes being to asset overrides.

The only way I was able to get rid of it when I replicate the situation was to CTRL Z the change to the anim BP slot, because just changing it back did nothing.

I just ran into a similar issue. I had to reimport all of my animations and tick the “Force Front Axis” box. May even reimport the mesh and skeleton with the same setting.
