Alembic Material ID (way too many)

Hey guys - referring to Sam Deiter and Tim Hobson’s video on Intro to Alembic:

I am also getting like hundreds of Material ID’s for my Alembic. On both Skeletal Mesh & Geo Cache. I have a wall fractured in blender and keyframed simulation. I would like for the whole thing to be using 1 material ID.

How did you get around this or are you still working on it?
