Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Depth of field blur not working before focal point.

  1. Open 4.18 preview

  2. Place cinematic camera in startup scene (with 2 chairs and table)

  3. Move camera close to object

  4. Set "manual focus distance 4" far from object

  5. Observe object that is close to camera, that is now between the manual focus distance plane and the camera.

What will occur: User will observe that the object between the focal point and the camera is not blurred from the aperture of the camera. Also some artifacts will occur. alt text

Hi 3Detour,

Are all the other camera settings set to default values? If not, can you provide a screen shot of how you have the cinematic camera set up? Also, for the Manual Focus Distance, did you really mean 40 cm? When I set the camera to 4 cm, the camera shows nothing but static.

As seen in "working-blur-4172.png" the manual focus distance is set to 187cm, min and max focal length do not matter. The camera settings that are not default values are modified only to emphasize the BUG, this occurs with any camera with any value. The BUG is expressing the lack of blur between the camera and the point of focus (focal point, as seen in picture "not-working-blur-418-preview.png").

NOTE: This BUG occurs in 4.18 official release as well!

I was able to reproduce the bug and I have logged JIRA UE-51863.
