Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Screenshot Bug in VR

hello :) in the previous versions of the engine i could use the console command HighResShot 3840x2160 if i pressed one of the oculus touch buttons and i a screenshot from the view i was seeing while pressing the button, but in 4.18 i only get the view from the camera position from the start of the game like that alt text

thats of course not what i saw in the hmd and on screen :/

does anyone what changed and how i can work around that bug (if it is one)?

Hi,

Do you have a sample project that this bug occurs in? This will help us to better identify the issue.

Thanks,

Lily

Hi Flash, could you upload a sample project with this bug? i am currently away from my workplace so you could speed things a bit up :D

Our project is about 100GB... Anyway, I made a VR project from template, run it, opened console and typed: HighResShot 3840x2160. And Unreal crushed...

Hi!

Thank you for reporting this issue. I was able to reproduce it in Engine Version 4.18. However, this issue has been fixed in an internal build. As for the editor crashing: this seems to be a result of the size of the screenshots. I suggest using a smaller size for taking screenshots.

All the best,

Lily

Hello, I have a similar issue, however, instead of taking the screenshot of the initial camera position, it takes a screenshot with the camera offset to my floor position set in the oculus (so 4'6 lower than eye height in my setup, it also appears to be a different FOV). I am in 4.18.2, released before this was answered, so it sounds as if it will be fixed in the next update, however, I wanted to add the extra information just in case.

https://github.com/ThePropsMonster/Unreal_VR_Film_Scouting

is a sample project. Taking a screenshot is clicking in while pushing the right touch controller thumbstick down.

Thank you, Dan
