Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

4.18 refuses to launch on 2015 MacBook Pro

MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015). Graphics card is Metal 1.2 compatible. Running High Sierra.

Installed 4.18. Won't launch. Uninstalled all Unreal engines. Reinstalled 4.18. Won't launch.

Restarted. Tried again. Nothing.

Here's my log file.

Any ideas would be terribly helpful.

I've been attempting a number of things to get this to run. I remembered how another problem I posted about earlier was caused by a space in the directory name of the default install. On a hunch, I deleted and reinstalled UE4.18 again, but this time, changed the install location from "/Users/Shared/Epic Games" (with a space) to "/Users/Shared/EpicGames" (no space).

Editor actually launched, and is merrily compiling shaders now.

You may want to look into this whole space-in-the-path-causes-problems thing.
