Unreal Engine 4.18 Crashes While Opening Unreal Project Browser

When I press “Launch” in Epic Games Launcher to start Unreal Engine 4.18 It starts doing the “Initializing” it goes to 100% than “Loading” also all the way to 100% than it closes that small popup and a new window appears on my task bar with Unreal Engine logo and when I hove over it it says “Unreal Project Browser” but no window appears and it stays like that for up to 30-40 seconds than it says that it stopped working and I have no option but to click close

I have noticed that my CPU goes up to 100% while loading and initializing but cools down when the new window appears but than the crash happens

I have 4 GM RAM & Dual Core 2.2 GHz processor. I’m not an expert on computers but I think it might be my laptop configuration, maybe it’s not strong enough for UE.

Any ideas guys? How can I fix this?

Hello knox97,

Please provide your computer information from DxDiag. Follow the instructions here:

Once you have done that, please attach the text file from that to a reply here.

Thanks,
Tyler

Here it is [DxDiag][1]
I get a pop-up every time I start DxDiag, maybe that might be related as well

Hello knox97,

Thanks for that information.

Have you ever been able to successfully launch the engine on this computer? Or is this your first attempt at starting the engine?

Thanks,
Tyler

It’s the first time ever that I’m using Unreal Engine or any other game engine for that matter, I’ve just started getting into Game Dev

Hello knox97,

Could you try downloading the previous version of the browser (4.17) and see if it crashes as well? This is not a solution, just a troubleshooting step.

You can do this by going to the Unreal Engine tab of the Epic launcher, then clicking Library on the left side of that page. From here, just click ‘Add Versions’ at the top.

Thanks,
Tyler

It worked!! Thank you so much Tyler you are the best!
Live long and prosper Unreal Engine Team!
