Weird Shadows

I’m new to UE4 and I’m making simple achitectural/interior design visualisations and walkthroughs. I imported this tent structure to UE4, textured it, and baked the lighting, but underneath the tent I get these weird light squares where there should be shadow as if the light is passing through the tent at specific points.

The tent is a single surface with a double sided material and double sided lighting. The interior of the tent also seems to be too dark, although that may just be due to the fact that there are no lights inside.

I’ve been through the light troubleshooting guide but none of the issues seem to be the same.

I managed to improve the lighting by giving the surfaces thickness in my 3D editing program instead of using double sided materials in UE4, and by increasing the light map resolution.

If anyone has any better methods for improving this please feel free to add
