Mobile: simple scene without textures 8 fps on device, why?

I’ve created really simple scene - just a corridor without materials (default one). Added lights (static). Disabled all postprocessing (used show postprocessing as well on the device) and I have 8 FPS on the device. I think that postprocess is still running. How can I disable ALL POSTPROCESSING on mobile?

Device: iPod Touch 5g. There should be stable 30 fps here compared to UE3.

Howdy intoxicat3,

Thank you for reporting this issue. Have you by chance seen this post about mobile post-processing: https://answers.unrealengine.com/questions/57481/how-to-totally-disable-postprocessing-on-mobile.html.

Also, here is a documentation about Post Processing for mobile: https://docs.unrealengine.com/latest/INT/Platforms/Mobile/PostProcessEffects/index.html

Let me know if this helps solve your issue. Have a great day!

Yes Ive used console command to disable PP on device but still I have 8 fps and Im not sure if its fully working.

The problem is with materials without fullyrought option enabled. When I add normal/spec fps is really low compared to UE3. I have the same assets and the same simple scene.

Btw default material cost a lot on mobile, you should think to make it fullyrought.

Hi Sean,

Yes - I still have the same problem, and I would like to know how to disable whole postprocessing on Mobile Device?

Best!

Just a quick couple questions for you. What version of iOS are you currently running your iPod off of? And is your project Code-based or Blueprint-based?

It’s blueprint based - Top Down Camera.

My iOS is 7.1

Would you be able to provide any log files associated with the project and also your Dxdiag? This will give us a better idea of what you are currently seeing with the low fps.

Thanks!

Hi Sean you will need to wait two or three weeks for logs because we are in middle of something here. Will try to gather as much informations as I can. Low fps is for sure connected with shaders (reflections)
