Unreal Editor too slow

I’ve been experiencing painfully slow performance. A project opens quick enough, but after that blueprint editor, material editor, particle editor, mesh editor and pretty much everything else are REALLY slow. Even empty blueprint class takes several minutes to open and complex ones take hours. This doesn’t make any sense as it doesn’t take that much time to open those classes even with my personal computer. Another strange thing is that all the other programs such as Zbrush and 3DS Max run very fast and smooth even though there’s a lot going on. So I’m convinced there is something wrong with the engine.

The performance drop began right after package failure; I was trying to package a project onto a mobile device and the process failed because of some custom plugin issues. Ever since then the editor is sluggish.

I tried to fix it by myself but nothing worked. Verified the engines, reinstalled visual studio and the engine 3 times each, cleared cache, checked registry, tried different binary versions(4.16, 4.18) and source build. None of those worked.
(And by the way, the slowdown began while using 4.17, but newly installed 4.16 is crazily slow as well)

If someone knows what’s going on or has any suggestion, please let me know.
It’s virtually impossible to work with this anymore.

I don’t know if it’s your case, but sometimes steam vr makes it really slow. Try closing steamvr and see if it improves.

It happened again. I tried updating my project to 4.18 from 4.17 and then decided to stick to 4.17. Right after that the whole thing slowed down again. HONEST TO GOD, I did nothing else other than installing 4.18.

This is not a vr project so I doubt that would work, but I’ll give it a shot. Thanks.
