4.18.1 Phat - Bugs aplenty

Dont know if it’s just me, but I am finding lots of bugs in the new Phat Editor.

  1. None of the views work from the menu, key combos work (only way to change view)
  2. Contraints hidden in any view except Perspective (there may be a way to turn this on, but not obvious as it is switched on in SHOW menu)
  3. Copy Paste contrainst still doesn’t mirror, it just copies parameter - which is still useless for arm which move in opposite direction.
  4. Copy/Paste keys don’t work, have to use menu. This is probably due to naming convention, but this should not be an issue, why can’t it find it by position???
  5. Cannot select contraints from view if all axis are locked, have to use tree.
  6. M key doesn’t seem to do anything (greyed out in menu too), and does noting on menu.
  7. UNDO stops workijng - with message in menu “can’t undo/redo while action is in progress” - no action is in progress. Really annoying after accidently moving a body!

So, far. This has happened on two different Physics assets (out of two), and after reboots. Other than layout changes, these bugs are making it no less of a pain than the original PHAT - which was always a pain.Desperately need a Copy / Paste Mirror function - even position/rotation of contrainst entry boxes would help - like bodies have).

Hi Electronik,

  1. A known issue that is already reported as JIRA UE-52565 and targeted fix is 4.18.2
  2. I reported this as Feature Request JIRA UE-52957
  3. Working as intended (Mirroring constraints are on our wishlist but we have no info to share at this time)
  4. Unable to reproduce, copy/paste functions as expected in my tests
  5. Unable to reproduce, I was able to select all constraints regardless of if they were locked or not
  6. Unable to reproduce, M finds the body on the other side and duplicates constraint and body; which is expected behavior
  7. Unable to reproduce, after moving a body I was able to undo/redo changes without issue

If you have any more info and repro steps on the issues that I was unable to reproduce, please let me know and I will continue the investigation.

Thanks,
-TJ

(4) UE-51803 (not public), fixed in 4.19.

(7) This was an issue where attempting to move bodies/constraints in simulate mode caused the transaction ever to be finished. Should be fixed in 4.18.1 in the fix for UE-51597.

I’m having issue (7) in ue4 4.22.3.

If I close and re-open UE4, I can then undo again. Looks like bug still exists. It happens more often when playing with simulate selected on a skeletal mesh.
