How can I apply different scalar parameters to a texture

I use scalar parameters to drive alpha channels in various materials. I have one mesh that’s made up of 440 cubes, I want to apply a material to the mesh that will give me access to change each individual cube (its one fbx file exported out of maya), how can I go about doing this?

Split the model in maya then reimport.

Or go to maya and assign different materials then reimport.

or you’re not going to fix this without reimporting.

If I bought this off of turbo squid, I would load it into milkshape, save it out as an obj, then edit the obj, to break up the cubes into different smoothing groups, then assign each smoothing group a new material.

The material you can assign in unreal. and override the obj settings.

or get an artist to do it in maya, and reimport.
