Launcher stuck on "Waiting For EULA"

link textI continually get stuck on a white screen that says “Waiting For EULA” and a Skip button just below that just after saying that I would like to accept the EULA. I have tried multiple re-installs, and had no success. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Hi LunaticAndrix,

Could you please send us your launcher logs? To access this log, please close the Launcher, and do the following:

Navigate to this location:

  • C:\Program Files\Unreal
    Engine\Launcher\Engine\Programs\NoRedist\UnrealEngineLauncher\Config
  • Open the file DefaultEngine.ini into
    Notepad.

At the very end, add the following (without the bullets):

  • [Core.Log]

  • LogHttp=veryverbose

  • LogOnline=veryverbose

  • Save the file and make sure that it
    saves successfully with the changes.

  • Then, run the Launcher until it gives
    you the error message.

  • Close the Launcher again, and
    navigate to this folder location:

  • C:\users\USER_NAME\appdata\local\unrealenginelauncher\saved\logs

  • If you open the most recent log in
the list, it should have a lot of
    information inside of it.

  • Place this log in a Zip file and
attach it to your AnswerHub report.

After you have provided the logs,
re-open the DefaultEngine.ini file,
remove the lines you added, and Save.
This will restore it to default
logging and not generate such large
files.

Once we have this information, we will be able to further assist you.

Thanks,

,
I have uploaded my log to the original submission for you to see what is happening. Also to clarify, the launcher is not crashing or displaying an error message, it is simply not progressing past a white screen that tells me that it is waiting for the EULA. Thank you again for the help!

Hello, I just haven’t heard back from you in a few days, so I was checking back in. Any luck with a solution to my issue?

Hi,

I have assigned a developer to this issue and let them know about your situation. He will respond with more information or questions as soon as he can.

Hi LunaticAndrix!

Sorry to hear you are having issues. I want to try and gather a bit more info to see if I can figure out what causes this state. From reading the logs, this is what I think you see…

You get to the login screen, put in your credentials and log in, then see the EULA waiting screen, press skip and see the screen, but cannot do anything other than click yellow “accept eula” buttons, which just take you back to the waiting screen with a skip button?

Please correct me where wrong

Thanks!

It would also be good to know if you can see the following file on your computer:-

C:\ProgramData\Epic\UnrealEngineLauncher\Data\EMS\UnrealEngineLauncher\EULA.json

Hi Swiftly!

This is indeed 100% my exact experience. I seem to be stuck in a loop of being unable to accept the EULA because it will not load for me. And yes, I can see the C:\ProgramData\Epic\UnrealEngineLauncher\Data\EMS\UnrealEngineLauncher\EULA.json file.

Please let me know if there is anything else that you need on my end. Thank you again for the help!

Hi again,

sorry this is taking a long time, I havn’t manage to reproduce or see why this could happen yet, if you have the EULA.json file locally then it should definatly be loading it up ok!

One thing you could try, is temporarily rename that “EMS” folder, to EMS_old… This will force the Launcher to re-fetch all of that, perhaps there is some issue on your local copy somewhere. Let me know if that has any effect, but i’ll continue looking into it.

C:\ProgramData\Epic\UnrealEngineLauncher\Data\EMS

C:\ProgramData\Epic\UnrealEngineLauncher\Data\EMS_old

Thanks

Swiftly,

You are awesome! This allowed me to accept the EULA, and I am no longer encountering the white screen of impasse. If I could hug you, I would!

Thank you for your assistance, and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Excellent news! Hope you have a great time with UE4
