Calculate and/or visualize light projected on mesh surfaces?

I am doing a research on the use of unreal engine as a tool for architectural interior lighting design.

so i was looking for a way to Calculate and/or visualize light projected on mesh surfaces (e.g. Table or chair) inside an architectural space (e.g.office), that i can use these data as scale to test if the amount of light is sufficient enough for the activities done inside such a space or not.

Any help will be much appreciated, as i can take a decision to proceed in this research or not.
