Placeholder model replacement?

is there a way to automatically update my models with new ones?

I’m building a environment, and right now it just has placeholders for game testing, but as I’m building the models would be really helpful to have the placeholders just automatically change (when I upload to UE4) to the new models and keep their position in the world, not sure if this is possible already, but it would be super helpful. It’s becoming extremely time consuming to place them twice also would be great if was possible to switch models and keep their position in the world.

I did some search on it but couldn’t find anything about does anyone know something about it?

thanks

I think there are two ways:

  1. select the new mesh in the content browser → right click onto the old mesh → replace
  2. or just give your new meshes the same name and then import it into the same folder → overwrite the old ones

thank you very much that was very helpful can’t believe it was this simple and I missed it. your tip is going to save me a lot of time

That screenshot with the HUGE red arrow is actually pretty entertaining XD lol
