Level Sequence sometimes doesn't play first frame of animations.

4.17.2

We have an animated skeletal mesh and animated light in a level sequence. The animated character is seen in T-pose, and the light in an incorrect position on the first frame. It seems the animations aren’t primed in time. The sequence plays fine after the first frame.

Edit: doesn’t happen 100% of the time. And the FPS setting on the sequencer is set to 30fps.
There are also other tracks in the sequencer. Is it possible too many tracks could be causing ? I doubt there are as many tracks in level sequence as there are in those from Epic’s games.

Need we modify the engine to rectify issue?

Or is it currently possible to get all the animations to be ready to play on the first frame of the level sequence?

If so to the latter, what things need be checked in order for the animations to play properly starting on the first frame?

Some users reported a similar issue over half a year ago here, but it was never answered with a workaround or accepted solution. Enabling the Force Fixed Frame Intervals setting, something which one of Epic staff suggested as a fix in the aforementioned thread, but it still happens

Thanks a lot in advance for any info!

issue still occurs on 4.18 and 4.19. I understand that the level sequencer is getting a lot of fixes in 4.20, but it’d be a lot of work to upgrade to that.

I’m not sure about the problem with the light but I spoke to someone at epic and we managed to reproduce the animation thing. The problem is the animation isn’t ticking right away. They are working on a fix for the next 4.20 hotfix, hopefully.
