when I add, take away, open a function, open a macro or open a collapsed node it stops everything for a couple of seconds and I hate this.
how do I fix it?

I have also found similar problems in the last few releases. The editor gets laggier and laggier the more I use it. Restarting it usually fixes it for a while.
Collapsing nodes into smaller graphs fixed the problem right up
