There is problem with this windows installer package

I can not install Epic Games Launcher, due to this error that has occurred, I have looked in several sites and I did not find anything to help me, please somebody help me.

Did you run the setup with admin rights? right click install file and choose “Run as Administrator”. Let us know if this works, thanks.

does not have this option here friend, but I used a command in regedit that added this option and the error remains.

Not sure why your modifying the operating system’s registry to run an application with admin rights, are you allowed to run the program on this machine? If so then I would try running the install again after restarting the PC.

I’m also having this problem. I have tried both installing DirectX user runtime package on it’s own and ensuring the .msi had admin privilege.

I have also used a command to run the .msi skipping the DirectX install, but it throws an error while validating the install. Can’t remember the specific error code, but the page for it simply redirected me here:

tl:dr It says to uninstall and reinstall, and make sure it has admin privileges, which I have already tried.

Running the DirectX package on its own also throws an error, but doesn’t give a code, simply telling to check DXError.log, which has 4 errors (throws same errors as running Epic Games Launcher Installer):

module: dxupdate(Mar 30 2011), file: dxupdate.cpp, line: 2056, function: ExecuteInf
Error: (123) - The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect.

DirectXUpdateInstallPlugIn() failed.

module: dsetup32(Mar 30 2011), file: setup.cpp, line: 1727, function: CSetup::SetupForDirectX

I realize this is long, but I don’t know what to do with this info, and would rather like to play Fortnite.
Thanks

Hi, type cmd at cortana, right click and run as administrator, then create a folder with any name at C:
like temp, then in cmd type cd C:\temp, put the installer in this folder and copy the name of the installer a put it in cmd like EpicInstaller-9.13.0-bae0e675fe8c4308a387462f083c76f9.msi, with the .msi at the end
