Low FPS in editor preview mode

I have an odd issue. 95% of the time when I hit play-in-preview, I get 15-25 fps performance.
In about 5% of the cases it will run at 120fps.

When packaged the game runs at full speed (75-120fps).

What could be causing this?

Hard to say, if you’re running an Nvidia card, consider disabling the GeForce experience overlay. It’s been proved to cause conflicts on some machines.

It kept appearing and disappearing thoughout 4.17.x, 4.18.x.

Running 4.19.2 now - its completely gone. Always 120 (I capped it at 120). Overall - the best release so far for me. Fast, 2 crashes in months, and very very fast.

I didn’t change anything for me. Editor FPS is still around 30 (40ms) but it runs smooth ingame.

In a nearly empty map I also get 120. In my main project map it’s 30fps. I don’t know which objects in particular slow it down. I was hiding all sorts of objects, but nothing really had a big impact. Except when I had everything, it goes up to 90-100fps.

I’m now using the “far view plane” set to 30000, so I get 60fps, which is good for working.
