Hi! I decided that I wanted to start using EQS for my project but I can’t seem to get it to work.
Here’s what I do:
create Environment Query
Create Testing Pawn
Create Context Blueprint
Whenever I make changes to the context, the editor crashes but when I reopen the editor the context is set and the query DO generate from that actor/location.
I am marking this as solved for reporting purposes. If you are able to provide files or need any more assistance with this please comment/respond here and it will reopen your question.
Hello,
sorry for the late post but I want to say that I’m running through the exact same issue.
The editor doesn’t crash right after having made changes to the context but when you move the testing pawn after recompiling the context.
Even if no changes were made to the context, just recompiling it causes a crash when moving the testing pawn again.
I was on 4.19 but I have the same issue on 4.20.2
I don’t think I had this issue on the previous versions (4.17 and 4.18)
I attach here a simple blank project with a few assets and a map where the bug happen. You’ll just have to reproduce these steps to make the editor crash :
open “EQS_Context”
Unplug and replug something, no significant changes need to be made
Recompile “EQS_Context”
Try Moving :EQS_TestPawn" In the world : Editor crashes.
PS : I noticed that you don’t even need have to recompile the EQS_Context to make it crash, just change the name of “EQS_TestActor” and try to move the EQS_TestPawn and it’ll crash. this actor is actually called in the Context to get its location.
I really hope this help to fix the bug because it’s such a very good feature that is almost wasted because of it
We’ve recently made a switch to a new bug reporting method using a more structured form. Please visit the link below for more details and report the issue using the new Bug Submission Form. Feel free to continue to use this thread for community discussion around the issue.
Not yet apparently.
I’ve submitted a bug report bug didn’t have the confirmation of the submission. I hope it had been taken in consideration because the form is quite long to fill.
