oculus/ Vive stuck at steamvr loading screen

I am having trouble getting either headsets to work with ue4, I have made sure that it starts in VR, and I have tried to use it without steamvr, nothing changed. I always see (unresponsive)UE4Editor.exe. in the steamvr window the motion controller/headset tracking is working in game. it just wont load on the HMD screens. I have attached a example below. it is the normal VR template from the 4.17 or 4.18 I tried both same result

.

Did you resolve this? Im having the same issue now. Not able to use my vive with “play mode” in UE or in a packaged game. I have tried to reinstall everything, and pack a fresh VR project. No luck. Stuck at loading inside HMD.

Strange thing is that some of my old packed levels work just fine.

No, sorry I have not, I have looked around a lot when this happened. Since then I’ve not touched VR at all. So this problem is still up in the air.

I actually figured it out. It had to do with the HMD was not enabled in the blueprint. I am not sure why that suddenly was an issue. Found a step by step explanation on how to fix it somewhere…

That sounds odd, why would the HMD be disabled in the VR template blueprint?

Actually, now that you said that I do remember trying a console command to add to the blueprint for it to work, but that didn’t work for me. If you can find where you found the fix. I would appreciate it if you can share it so if others get this problem they can easily find this thread and fix it.

Was’nt able to find it but I took a screenshot of my level blueprint. Good luck!

I think I found out why mine wasn’t working, an older version of steam VR didn’t tell me that the HMD had to be connected to the same graphic’s, as I have two 1060’s in my computer I use one solely for VR. But the Unreal editor needs it to be the same with both for testing.
