  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Object rotation to a specific degree

Hello there, I am truly sorry for asking this very basic question but I am out of luck searching the answer all over the Web.....

I am placing an object, a (guardrail on a catwalk) and I want my object to be in line with the catwalk.
To do so, I am using "rotate object (E)" but the finest available value is 2.812"

I am off by +/-1 degree, and this is killing me! How to set up my own degree rotation when placing an object? Thank you for your help.

PS Transform ---> Delta Transform, only works on Vertical/Horizontal

Product Version: UE 4.18

Hi,

If I understood you correctly, you're trying to rotate a static mesh that you've placed in the level using the rotation gizmo (E). You can turn off the snapping tools altogether and get a smooth rotation. Moving my hand very slowly, I was able to go as low as 0.03 degrees. Alternatively, you can change the world rotation value on the details panel that is located on the right side of the viewport. You can even add or subtract values from it just like a calculator!

Hope this helps.

Thank you so much for sparing me so much pain. You taught me two things, I learned that by slightly moving allows me to move by 0.3 degrees and not jumping totally off. (Being a button pusher myself, how didn't I find this myself I am puzzled) and the second using the menu which I haven't set up like yours. Mine is a mess, it's the program default and I absolutely hate it.

Thank you very much!

You're very welcome :-)

Mine is also the UE4 default setup! I'm not sure why yours looks different but here's a complete screenshot of my editor that you can use as a reference.
