Using Unreal Engine 4 for safety/security software

Hello!

Me and a couple of friends are working on a user interface program using Unreal Engine 4 for another company. This Unreal engine 4 application/program will be working in combination with sensors and other systems the other company provides and maintain. The final product will allow the person in charge to monitor where personnel and crew is located on a ship when an warning or emergency occurs in real time, making it easy to see if any crew are still in a dangerous area and how many have made it safe to the ships muster stations.

Long story short I am asking if Epic Games have any policy against using Unreal engine 4 for security and safety of people? And if so what are the policies? I couldn’t find any information regarding this in the terms of service documentation Epic Games provide.

Thanks in advance for all answers!

The relevant section of the EULA is:

You may not engage in any activity with respect to the Licensed Technology, including as incorporated into a Product, . . . (2) for operation of nuclear facilities, aircraft navigation, aircraft communication systems or air traffic control machines, or for military use in connection with live combat

It doesn’t sound like your proposed use trips over this prohibition.
