Abnormaly Long Shader Compile?

Hello! I downloaded AutomotiveMaterials off of the marketplace, when I opened the project, it had 2,000 shaders it needed to compile. It took at least 10 hours for my computer to compile the shaders; I wanted to know if this is longer than normal.

Here are my computer specs, they’re a bit higher than the requirements posted here.

System: Windows 10
CPU: AMD A6-6400K (3.8 GHz)
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GT 1030 (compatible with DirectX12)
RAM: 16 GB

Hey there, it really depends on your cpu and the complexity of the shaders. Having said that, 10 hours seems way too long even for 2000 complex shaders, where you doing some other things with your cpu that could slow down the compilation process?

I played some video games, but nothing insane. I also left my computer over night, it could have slown itself down in a sleep mode, but it didn’t turn off. How long would it normally take to compile shaders?

It depends on the shader and the quantity, but when i reinstall a new version of unreal engine and he starts compilating all of my project shaders it takes like 1 or 2 hours.

Unreal Engine not work good with AMD CPUs.
