Particle system quality lower than it should be

I am new to Unreal Engine 4 and recently I’ve been trying to learn how to create VFX using the cascade system that is used in Unreal Engine 4 and have been following along the official Unreal Engine youtube videos for using cascade for vfx.

However one issue I’ve noticed is that the youtube videos use the particle systems present in the content examples, however when using the exact same particle systems from the content examples myself, the quality of the particle system seems to be significantly lower, even though I’ve made sure to set engine scalability → effects → epic

I’m not sure if this some sort of bug, some error on my part or perhaps a hardware issue, so I have attatched images showing the difference in quality in the particle systems in my engine and how it is intended from the tutorial/content examples.

Also, in case it is important - I have 8GB RAM and my graphics card is an Nvidia Geforce GTX 965M (Laptop)

Please Note: These particle systems are the exact default ones from the content examples as used in the video, and have not been edited by me in any way whatsoever. Furthermore, the particle systems maintain this same low quality in the editor as well and not just in simulation.
