I just got fortnite. I tried to play it but it is super laggy. it was at a rate where it is even hard to play. Just wondering how I can fix this. Thanks.

is it the only program that has a lag or low frame rates? if it is then you can either mess with the graphical settings or it may be a bug or your system not agreeing with it. If every program is slow or laggy then you should check for background processes that are running, check your internet speed, and look into whether your pc can handle what yours throwing at it hardware wise (cpu, graphics card, ram)
