Swarm running slow on rendering lightmass

During a video call amongst a few of my peers, I was showing off an area that I had set up for display. However, I hadn’t updated the lighting on the display. While I let the process update lighting, I noticed that the Unreal Swarm connection was running rather slow. Or rather taking a long time to finish updating the lighting. Now by no means am I saying that Swarm is broken, slow, buggy, or otherwise. But is there any way that I myself as a user could optimize the speed on my end for updates to lighting?
