How to reference third person bp to ai behavior tree

Hello Please help me… I have been trying to figure this out and even my professor can’t help me

I have created a function when player holds shift key, the character will hold breath until it runs out of breath

What I need to do is I need Ai to chase me in fov (which I have figured out already) but loose sight of me and go back to patrolling when holding breath is active…

in other words, how do I make AI know that holding breath is on…

dont know if its any help here but the picture below shows the settings to change if you want the enemy to forget the player if he hasnt seen him in so long.
